SEEDLING

Why Seedling exists

Seedling started with a renewal email. I'd been paying for Loom for a long time and used it the way most people do: record my screen, talk through something, and send the link to a teammate or a customer. Then the price doubled, and when I looked at what the extra money paid for, none of the new features were things I had ever opened.

I didn't want to pay twice as much for the same three clicks I'd been doing all along, so I built a tool that does those three clicks really well and stops there. That's Seedling.

What Seedling is for

Seedling is for people who use video as a faster way to explain things. You click record in Chrome, talk through whatever you're showing with your camera in a little bubble, and the link is ready the moment you stop. You can cut out the parts where you stumbled, you'll get an email when someone watches, and the people you send it to never need an account.

What it will and won't become

Seedling will stay small on purpose. The next features on the list are the ones that make the core job better, such as automatic transcripts with timestamps and sensible automatic titles for your videos. It won't turn into an AI suite, a meeting recorder or a project management tool, because that's exactly the kind of growth that makes prices climb for everyone, including the people who never use the extras.

The price is meant to stay fair too. Seedling costs $8 a month or $79 a year, and if it ever changes you'll hear about it well in advance, with the option to cancel before it applies to you.
